On Saturday I went up to the club to test out my new 5 wood and play. I got an early tee time so there wasn't much practice before I went out. It was very windy and about 34 degrees up there so I played 6 holes before I had to stop. I still went and practiced because the area is heated. i love my new club. I hit it great every time as long as I take my time. I don't know the distance because it was windy but It was really nice. It had great feel even on the mats. I decided to try and loosen my grip a little because my hand was hurting and to change my swing so that I was swinging the club into the ball instead of hitting the ball with my hands which I think accounted for my inconsistency. It was a little different but I could hit it more consistently and it had a better feel. Good thing It's winter break so I can practice a lot more.

On Tuesday I went up to just practice. Only practice because I hadnt gone in about a month and because dad said so. So I got up there and was doing pretty good. and then all of a sudden I couldn't get the ball off the ground for about 75 shots in a row. I didn't know what was wrong and because the day was so perfect I decided to play the back. It was perfect. I started off by lipping out my birdie chip and ended by lipping out my birdie chip. It was such a good round. Even my putter which had been on steroids before was working. I ended up only 3 over. Today I went up and shot an 82. 5 over on the front and a dissapointing 5 over on the back. I bogied 10 for the first time since ever. I bogied 12 also. But I saved by parring 13,15, and 18. I have developed a slight draw in my shot which is good. But it turns into a pull hook in my driver so I plan to fix that the next time im up there. Also, christmas is coming up and I am hoping to be going up there with some new gear soon.

Today I went up and played a scramble with some friends. Me and a 7th grader named ryan shot a 70 while jesse and a friend named grant shot a 65. It was really fun. I was hitting the ball great on the back especially. I have my shot down now. It is either perfectly straight or a slight draw. I can't wait to play next week.

Today I went up and played 15 since 1, 2, and 3 were shut down for repairs to the bunkers. I started off the par three 4th with an 8 iron shot down to one inch to the cup. Shot of a lifetime. I did decent the rest of the front. started off par, bogey, par, bogey, bogey, and then went par, par, par from 15 to 17. on 15 my drive was perfect-A slight draw. My second shot was also perfect but my third shot was a little short. After that I just two putted. My drive on 16 was crushed. My second shot with my three iron was crushed but barely into the rough. Then I hit a great flop shot that died right by the hole and sunk the put for par. I hit a great 3 iron with a draw that just was a little too much club. but I had an uphill lie at the back of the green. I again hit a perfect flop shot to about two feet and again sank the par put. I'm going up again tomorrow to play with Jesse.
Saturday, October 24, 2009
Today I went up and played with Jesse. I didn't Jesse shot 71. I shot an 85. My game pretty much started on the back when on 10 I had my best chip to about three feet for par. Then on 12 I hit a great pitching wedge to about 30 feet and then two putted. The only time I birdied on the back was on fourteen when I had a decent drive but a great 5 iron on to the green to about 7 feet and then made the put. But my best put was on fifteen. the pin was at the front of the green and my shot out of the sand went all the way to the back. Jesse had already finished so he threw his ball in the sand to "show me how it was done." to show him how it was done I sank my 40 foot put. I hop I can play tomorrow.
Sunday, October 18, 2009
For the first time in a month i went up and just practiced. for those of you who don't know I have a small tear in my lcl and i haven't played for awhile so my dad wanted me to just practice. I saw Jesse up there and I practiced with him. We played KP and some really good putting drills. I was hitting the ball really good today. even my driver. The greens were perfect today and I can not wait to play next week.

Yesterday I went up and practiced for about 5 hours. I worked on primarilly my mid range chips because short ones were easy and long ones are my bread and butter. Also, since it was pretty wet I had to figure out the spin. I did pretty good. by the end I got it close enough to where I would make it but not as close as I would like. I also decided to slow up my backswing on my 4 iron and up for better accuracy. I went up today and played. I shot an 85. The front was terrible to me as usual and I shot a 46. The back was a little nicer. I started off 1 over after 5. My third shot on thirteen hit the flag stick! It was an amazing shot. I ended up only getting par because the ball got knocked so far away. On 18 I decided to play from the blues. I first shot was barely in the rought. I got way under my next shot. I hit my next one into a rock, and then finally hit a perfect five iron to 3 feet for bogey. All that work for a bogey.
Saturday, September 12, 2009
Today I played for the first time in a week. I didn't do great. I shot an 88. I started off 1 over after three with two bogeys and a birdie I was between clubs on my second shot on three so I hit a great knockdown sot to about 7 feet and made the put for birdie. after that it went downhill. I doubled three times and even trippled once before it was over. My best hole by far on the back was 13. My drive was perfect my second shot with my five was struck perfect, sounded perfect and went perfectley straight. My chip could have been closer so I only parred but it was good. I hope to get up there every saturday until golf starts.
Tuesday, September 8, 2009
Yesterday I went up and shot a 79. My first time in the 70's. I shot a 43 and then a 36. I shot even par on the back! I started off par, birdie, and then four more pars. After that a bogey and two pars. My birdie on 11 was perfect. A slight draw to the right side of the fairway so I could avoid the bunkers then my second shot took two bounces and dissapeared. I thought I got an eagle. It turns out the ball dissapeared over a hump on the green but the ball still landed a foot from the pin. I had a great day but since school starts I don't think i'll be doing much more.
On Saturday I went up and shot an 80. I shot a pretty good 42 on the front but a 38 on the back. I got my driver under control today and after the lesson I had a bout a week ago I the ball was checking every time. On the first hole the ball even spun back a couple of feet. On the back I started with four consecutives pars. Then a bogey but on 15 I hit a good but short drive because of the speed of the fairways. Then I hit a perfect fade and then hit the perfect shot about three feet from the pin for birdie. After that I went bogey, par, bogey.
Tuesday, September 1, 2009
On Sunday I played 18 with ryan again. I played pretty bad except for my putting and chipping. My putting especialy was on. On 4 I made about a 10 foot put for par. then on 9 I made a 15 foot put for bogey. On 11 I made about a 12 foot put for birdie and on all my other 10 foot + puts I left just tap ins. My 3 wood was pretty shakey but I should get a lesson on it soon. My mid and short irons saved me on some holes and I had a lot of great recovery shots. I plan to go up there today to just work on my chippng and putting.
Sunday, August 23, 2009
Went up and played again. I did much better. I shot an 84. Although I shot a 46 on the front I shot a 38 on the back. I didn't mess up on the back. I parred every hole except for 16 and 18. I made some long puts and my drives were straight. I was also chipping well for what little I did. There was nothing spectacular that I did I just played good. I don't think I will be up for awhile because of football.
Saturday, August 22, 2009
Todat I went up and played 18. I shot an 86. I did'n't do as well as I would have liked to but I did good. I was putting pretty well. On 13 I had about a 10 foot put for par that I sank and I was also hittin everything 7 feet and closer. today on 12 the the whites were back with the blues so I hit a 7 iron. I moved the ball back in the box so I wouldn't over shoot but I ended up about a foot short. It was going straight at the pin too. I don't think I will be golfing for awhile because I have football at two all week and juniors can't golf til ten.
Thursday, August 20, 2009
Yesterday I went up and played the back nine because I had football but I wanted to golf. I shot a 38. I did great. I was hitting my drives straight and my mid and short irons really came around for me. I started off with 4 pars, then a bogie, birdie, double, par, and then par. Then today I played the front and got a 40. I parred 1,2,5, and 6, I also birdied 4. the pin was up 15 and the wind was with me so I used a 9 iron. It landed about 6 feet from the hole and then my put went all the way around the lip of the hole before it finally went in.
Sunday, August 16, 2009
Today I went up and got a lesson. It was on driving. I wasn't getting my weight back and using my body to bring my hands through. I played bad today. I shot an 88. I had some great saves especially out of the sand. On 15 I hit a shot out of the bunker that checked and ended up a foot from the hole. I also hit a great five iron on the 180 yard par three 8th. I also had a great breakfeast for the first time. I have football so I probably won't be able to golf for a while.

Today, even though my back hurt, I played in the east side vs. west side wildcat golf tournament at OGA in Woodburn. It was a scramble matchplay format so I played with another guy from wilsonville. It turned out to be Nolan Smith who I knew from basketball. He was pretty good. We ended mup winning our match by four holes and east side won (which is my side) by two matches. Each match won was worth one point. Nolan and I shot an 82. I didn't do to good on the front nine but made a 20 and 15 foot put and also had a 30 foot put end up two inches to the hole. I think i'm going up to the club on sunday. It was fun to experience a new course.
Tuesday, August 11, 2009
Today I went up and played with my friend Ryan Walsh. He is also going to join the golf team next year. My back started hurting so I didn't play as good today. I shot an 89. Ryan shot a 93 which is great for the first time playing the course. I introduced him to the famous fish and chips. It was great and I hope to do it again somtime soon.
Sunday, August 9, 2009
I played 27 today. I shot an 86 when I played 18. I shot a 41 on the front which was great for me but I sucked on the back so right when I got done I went right back out on the back. By the time I had played five holes I was one under. I ended up four over after I had a double on 16. I bogeyed 18 even though I had a chip that ended up a foot from the pin. I also had a birdie from a 10 foot put on 11.
Two days ago I played with Paul Scott. His step-son is in my grade so it was cool to play with him. He was playing in a match play championship in which he lost by one stroke on the last hole. So that I wouldn't get in their way, I decided to play from the blues. I was hitting the ball far but I was fading the ball so much. I just couldn't hit the ball straight. I'm lucky I saved myself with my chipping and putting. It didn't start off bad though. I parred 1. I hit the drive in the fairway, my second shot faded, I layed up on my third and chipped it two feet from the pin on fourth. I'm going up there today to practice and play.
Thursday, August 6, 2009
I went up at five today and got a tee time at 5:30. I did pretty good. I parred 18 and had like a 280 yard drive. I birdied 2 after my drive got me 15 feet from the green. I shot a 41 on the back which was great. I parred the number two hardest hole on the course,15. I didn't get to play Bandon because my whole family got sick with the flu. Maybe next time. I think I might go up tomorrow for some practice.

Played 18 in 105 degree weather. It was'nt bad. I shot an 87. It was'nt that I was going bad it was just that I made minor errors and got bogeys instead of par's. I played with an NBA player today. His name is Desmond Mason and he plays for the Oklahoma City Thunder. He also won the NBA SLam Dunk Contest in his rookie year. I did'nt know until the eighteenth hole when the guys I was playing with told me. He had only played nine. I wont be golfing for awhile because I'm going on vacation to the Umpqua river for two weeks.

Golfed for the hundreth day in a row. I shot an 84. I think my scores are starting to even out in the mid 80's. I parred 10 through hole 13. II nearly birdied ten after a great shot with my 60 degree. I birdied 7 after I had a blind shot with my 8 iron that ended up two inches from the pin. I also had the longest drive I've ever had at the Oregon Golf Club. 270. It was a beast right down the right side of the fairway on number one. I think I might be going up there with the Wilsonville golf coach, coach Nichols, some time in the next week. Hopefuylly it will make a good impression!
Friday, July 24, 2009
On Wednesday I played 36. I shot an 82 the first time. On 12, a 120 yard par 3, I got the ball 2 itches from the pin. I even got a picture of it and everything. It was great. I also birdied with a 30 foot put. On my other 18 I shot an 86. I didn't do anything special I just hit the ball good and straight. I played great

On Sunday I played nine holes with my grandpa at Sandelie west. I finished two over even though I wanted to par every hole. The highlight of my day was when I hit a 290 yard drive on number 6. I had never hit that far before. It was amazing. I hope to get out there sometime soon with him again. On Monday I played at Oregon. I only played 9 because of the ladies tournament but I did the best I had ever played on the front. I had a 20 foot chip in on 3 for birdie. I parred 4 and 6 and I should have parred 8. I just did amazing. I'm going up to Sandelie with my brother Brennen today. I need to show him how it's done!
Thursday, July 9, 2009
Best day ever. I shot an 87. I had three pars in a row. I even birdied my fisrt hole on number two. On 13 I hit the pin with a chip. I parred the number two handicapped hole on the course also. I even had my sister with me to watch. We played with two ladies. Barbie and Meg. They were'nt the best golfers but they were really nice.I hope to get up there on saturday.
Tuesday, July 7, 2009
Today Jeremey and I went up and played eighteen. He shot a 98 and I shot a 91. I had a great save out of a water hazard on 14 and ended up parring. He had a great shot on 17 that hit the pin and went out. I had a 20 foot put for par on 8 and it kept going back and forth like that. Him and I jjust kept making great plays. I bogeyed 1 for the first time and missed my 20 foot put that ended up two inches from the hole. We both got a sandwhich and a milkshake which was good. Im going up there again with him on Monday when he gets back from golfing at Cross Water. I can't wait.
Sunday, July 5, 2009
On Friday, I went up at 9:30 and got a tee time at 10:20. I played with some sixth graders named Cody, Zeb, and Matt. Matt's dad turned out to be a close friend of my dads, Bob Schmitts. I parred two and nine and ten again. On Sunday I went up and played again. I played with a couple named Kurk and Erin. Kurk was pretty good but got mad at himself easily. Erin was just a beginner. I shot a 93. The only problems I had were with consistancy so that means I only have minor adjustments. Today I played 36. My first was at 12:00 with a group of three. There was a couple, Dave and Carol, and a guy named Steve. I played good for how bad it could have been. I shot a 95. My chipping was on but I kept topping the ball. Steve told me I just needed to get my hands foreward. It helped a lot. I ended up shooting 47 on the back. I ended up seeing Zeb and his dad from Friday and played with them. I did amazing I parred holes that I would usually bogey or even double. I chipped great and my drives were 250 and straight every time. I played the best golf of my life. I shot an 89. I'm going golfing with Jeremey Wetherbee who is also a member up there. We shoot about the same so it should be fun.
Sunday, June 28, 2009
Yesterday I went up to the club with Sam. He was pretty good. I introduced him to the famous fish and chips. He said they were the best he ever had. He appreciated the club the same as I did. We went swimming too. We were in the pool for three hours until we had to go. Today I got up at 8:30 and was up there by 9:45, got a lesson at 10:30 to help with my swing,(I just needed to stay inside an imaginary box and only my arms would come out) and I was out on the course at 11:00. Right off the bat I parred number one. My chipping lesson also helped on number 3 with a 20 foot chip that ended up a foot away from the hole. I don't think that I will be up there for awhile because of basketball so I won't be blogging for awhile.
Friday, June 26, 2009
Golfed 18 again. I didnt do to good. it was because I started using a stronger grip so I Kept pulling my drives. I scored a 100. Not my best day. The only thing I did well was my 7 and 9 iron. Those are my best clubs. I hope to go up to the club tomorrow with my neighbor Sam. He's on my basketball team. I hope I can fix my swing and I can't wait to get on the course again.

It's been awhile
It's been awhile since I golfed last but this weekend I got to golf twice. I went up to the club around one and hit balls, putted, and chipped in the practice area until my tee time at 2:40. I played with the Kim family. I didn't do to well. I shot a ninety three. I only parred one hole. Not my best day. The next day I went out at two and only had twenty minutes to practice until my time at 2:30. I played with a couple this time. Their names were Jeff and April. I played horrible on the front nine but after Jeff told me I needed to rotate back farther I was hitting the ball in the fairway almost every time. I parred two holes on the back nine and shot a ninety two. Not much but an improvement. I can't wait for school to get out. I can golf whenever I want. I think I'm playing again on Wednesday. I hope I do better.

Another best weekend ever!
Even though I was sick Wednesday through Friday the weekend ended with a bang. Our family started by cramming into our car and heading out for Sun River. When we got there I got to golf on the south course by myself. I improved my handicap by one and had loads of fun. The next morning at eight thirty I headed out again to play the north course. This time I played with three other people. They were three guys from Salem who were really fun to play with. The guy who was driving the cart with me actually got drunk and I had to drive it the last couple holes. I played the best golf ever and improved from my previous days score by six. I hit amazing. I even made a twenty and 15 foot put. I also made my first birdie ever on the par three, 153 yard #3 hole. I thought it went in but I just sank my easy two foot put instead. Today I went and played. I played with two people who lived in crosswater. I couldn't hit to save my life today but my putting did. I made about three 15 foot puts and I didn't three put the whole day. On 18 I even got a lucky bounce off of the cart path over the bunker and fifteen feet away from the pin. I finished three over my score from my previous round. It was again, an amazing weekend.

Best Weekend Ever!!!!!
This weekend was amazing. Aside from golf, after school on Friday my friend, Sam Collin and took me to a basketball pick up game at the hoop. You go there and there is people from all over who you randomly get put with and play with for two hours. After the last shot I made, which was a pull up three over this guys face, this really tall guy who was sitting on the bench said, " White boy can shoot!''. By that time I was 17/20 at three pointers and it was really cool. Afterward when I was in the parking lot Sam's dad came over and I told him what the guy had said. He then told me that that guy was Cliff Robinson who played for the Blazers and was really good. It was to hear that a former Blazer thought I could shoot.
Saturday was just a usual, great day up at the club hitting balls. I got a lesson up there. I was flicking my wrist on my back swing and not flicking my wrist on my fore swing. I was also trying to hit the ball instead of lagging my hands behind and initiating my swing with my hips. Got my normal fish n' chips and even saw my neighbor Russ Farr, who is also a member up at the beautiful Oregon Golf Club. I told him I was going to play nine the next day at Sandelie Golf Course. He then invited me to play on the actual course. I hadn't got to play on the course because my dad was still teaching me the etiquette of the game. My dad gave me four boxes of nike golf balls that were really nice. I was ecstatic.
So at nine in the morning and after a talk with my dad about course etiquette, Russ and I were off. We hit a couple balls and putted at first. I did pretty good. Russ gave me a hint to keep my elbow in and it worked. Then at ten, we met our partners in crime and golf, Polly and Chris(who are the nicest people ever) and were off. I obviously played horrible but it was still really, really fun. Russ helped me also on some golf etiquette I hit par on ten after the best drive in the whole entire world which left me twenty feet from the green on the par four hole. Only par of the day but it was a good one. Especially after the great ten foot put I sank.
On Monday I went up to hit balls and dad said I might be able to do nine. So when I got there, I headed in to the pro shop to check if there was any tee times available since there was a tournament going on that day. Got the best tee time ever at one fifty and since it was so early I got to play 18. Met a kid up there named Jordie who Polly and Chris were going to introduce me to but I just did it myself. We hit balls together and by the time it was time to tee off he was going with me. I did better than Saturday. I made two pars instead of one and one was out of the sand trap on twelve. I struggled with putting and consistency but again it was awesome. I established a handicap of 23 after I hit ninety five. Could have easily hit 89 but the front nine wasn't my friend. Anyway, now I'm like Lebron And Jordan with 23. I hit some balls afterward and while hitting a flop shot, I learned how to spin the ball. It really was the best weekend ever.

Last Sunday I went golfing with my Grandpa at Sandelie West golf course for some nine hole golf. It was my first time playing on a course and as my dad predicted, it was a wake up call. I bogied every single hole except for one. I got a new driver which worked great. It was overall really humbling but fun. I went up again today. Didn't have any food this time. Kitchen was closed. I bombed my driver and putted great. My long and mid irons were golden but for some reason my wedges keep going way too high. I tried a lot of things to fix it. I had a great weekend. Happy Mothers Day.

Its been a while
I went up to the club on both Saturday and Sunday. I got five new golf shirts from my Dad. I'm also getting a brand new, 2009 king cobra driver. On Saturday, I was up at the club and a rep for the cobra driver was there. He helped me choose the right one. I ordered it today. It's coming in a week. Today I hit really well. I got a lesson on long irons and I can now bomb it with a 3 iron. My putting and chipping has improved tremendously since two weeks ago when I got a lesson on the two. Again, I had the fish and chips but today, I tried something new and got casidilla with sour cream and salsa. It was so good. Dad gave me a book on putting. I have'nt read it yet but I'm hoping to soon because that is an area of the game I need some work on. Over all I got in 14 hours of golf and I'm looking forward to getting on the course.

Easter Sunday
I went up to the club today for the third day in a row. The weather was really bad but the greens were slow so the balls were sticking which I love. I got another lesson today and got help with bending my right knee in my backswing. It gave me so much torque. I hit the ball 185 yards with an eight iron. I practiced drawing and fading the ball. I only stayed there for four hours but I had fun.
On Saturday I went up to the club again for seven hours. I didn't get a lesson this time because of the Masters Tournament. I worked with my sand wedge and my 60 degree the whole day at the chipping green and on the range. I hit great and could get it on the green every time. I had my fish and chips, pitite cesear salad again. It was a great day

Good Friday
On Friday I went up to the Oregon Golf Club. I got a lesson and was told to open up my club face in my backswing and rotate them foreward in my foreswing, stick my butt out more, widen my stance, and step away from the ball more. Also, follow my hands with my body and shift my weight all the way to my front foot. It really helped my shot. It also helped my chipping game. I still need help with my putting game. I did pretty good today and the six hours I spent up there was really fun. I had great food and four lemonades. I hope to go up there sometime soon.
